The Firm:

Established in 1945, Maginnis & Carey LLP is one of the oldest public accounting firms in Oregon, and the exclusive Oregon member of Allinial Global, an association of independent accounting firms. This affiliation provides us with supplemental specialists to support our clients, and serves as a resource for training materials for our staff.

The Staff:

The staff of Maginnis & Carey consists of a closely knit group of talented professionals with diverse backgrounds. Members of our firm enjoy spending time together outside of work, enjoying movies, sporting events, concerts and other activities.

The firm also provides opportunities for staff to socialize outside of the office. The firm organizes a golf tournament each summer and is currently part of a local kickball league. The firm also hosts an annual Christmas party and a post tax season party to celebrate the end of busy season.

Several members of our staff are active in the community. Members of our staff are currently involved in various youth programs and volunteer to serve miscellaneous charitable organizations. The firm is also actively involved in the United Way campaign.


Unlike most public accounting firms, Maginnis & Carey does not have separate accounting & tax departments. Thus, our staff accountants have the opportunity to experience "both sides" of public accounting, working with companies of all sizes in a variety of industries. This allows our staff the flexibility to choose a particular niche that they wish to pursue, and start on the path towards becoming an expert in that particular field.

At Maginnis & Carey, staff have the opportunity to develop their professional careers, working with a team of highly qualified professionals. The firm recognizes the many changes in the requirements to become a certified public accountant, including the 150 hour credit requirement . We are committed to working with new staff to assist them in meeting the new licensing requirements.

Maginnis & Carey also provides training to the staff through mentoring programs and continuing professional education. We encourage our staff to join professional organizations such as the ORCPA or the AICPA, and to join various industry organizations.
